Job description
Key Responsibilities:
• Experience in tender preparation, technical bid review and contracting for large chemical projects preferred
• Developing long-term strategies and plans for the mechanical department, aligning them with the plant’s overall objectives, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Managing and leading a team of mechanical engineers, supervisors, technicians, and other personnel. Providing guidance, mentoring, and support for professional development.
• Manage the department’s budget, allocate resources efficiently, and prioritize projects, maintenance activities, and upgrades to maximize equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for critical mechanical equipment, including compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, and rotating machinery, to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Oversee and conduct regular inspections and tests of equipment to identify and address issues before they result in failures. • Investigate and analyse equipment failures to determine the root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Total Meter experience in chemical fertilizer plants maintenance, preferably in ammonia plant maintenance
• Experience in static pressure vessels and rotary equipment like large compressors, steam turbines and multistage centrifugal pumps
• Knowledge of various standards and codes like ASME, API, AD Merkblatter, TEMA and piping specifications
• Knowledge in piping work and ability to read/prepare isometrics
• Experience in large project execution including piping work and equipment erection/installation
• Heavy lift experience will be an added advantage
Educational Qualifications
Candidate to be mechanical engineer graduate from NIT or any other relevant engineering institute of repute.
